Hi Kamal - Thanks for your kind comments. I can't imagine another crop that might create the same feeling of the vast expanse. |

Hi Karen - I like the feeling this image generates as well. Flipping the image does help too. Thank for your input! |

Hi Kamal - I agree with both Tom's and Ingrid's insights. This image captures those fishing nets beautifully. The nets provide a soft contrast as well as draw the viewer's eye throughout the image. I am particularly drawn to the movement showing in the boat on the right, I am guessing as a result of the weight of the nets in the water. Well seen and captured. |

Hi Tom - A black curtain flash effect would certainly provide the impact you are after. The minimalist image you've provided is compelling as well. The color and texture created by the shape of the vase and in the reeds as a result of your lighting arrangement is quite effective. That said, it appears that the lighting is coming from two directions. Best of luck finding the process necessary to achieving the effect you are after. |

Hi Greg - A good choice to move those few feet to the left! Love the light and it's impact on everything it touches. My only suggestion would be to consider a 2:1 aspect ratio pulling up from the bottom so that the horizon doesn't split the image so close to the middle. Doing so may put a bit more emphasis on that beautiful sky. Nice capture! |

Thanks Ingrid - Minimalist images are a bit hard to find . . . the world is a cluttered place. Thanks for your input. |

Hi Karen - The composition and your choice to convert to a black and white creates a powerful image. No suggestions. Well done! |

Hi Ingrid - This is a nice example of when the entire scene collectively serves as the center of interest . . . an underappreciated composition if you ask me. What makes a photograph such as this better than others, is how long the viewer is content to linger in the image. Having a distinct foreground, middle ground and background helps enhance your image's visual appeal. The sunset is no help though, as I believe it is a bit lost in that sky. The dramatic sky with the complimentary oranges against the blues is lovely. Good eye! |

Hi Tom - Great suggestion! I flipped the image horizontally. I knew it would be a better composition not only to invite the viewer eye into the image but also to remain in the image longer. Thank you - |
