Hi Erin - I appreciate the input. We don't have an abundance of wildlife come around, although it's always fun to observe when they do . . . even better when I can catch a shot. |

Hi Karen - Computer problems are never fun - I'm sure you're glad to be up and running again. I'll play with cropping the fence. Thanks for commenting! |

Hi Ingrid - Thanks for the input. I hadn't considered creating a border with the fence - I'll play with it and see. I can lighten the fence some too. |

Hi Kamal - If the hawk is familiar with me, it has been because he has been observing from afar. We only get a handful of hawks that stalk our backyard feeder and land on our fence each year. I don't believe the hunting is good enough to keep them coming back. Thank you for your observations; always good to get your reaction. |

Hi Tom - You turned an ordinary flower into something special. As usual, your work in post, makes this image - the flower glows without losing that translucent quality you see in the original. I really like the darkened and softened edges as well as further darkening of the background. Creates a fine arts feel. Good job! |

Hi Greg - What a perfect vantage point you had with the action coming straight on and the background being void of distraction! This image tells a good story with strong impact. You've captured both cowboy and steer doing their best. The image is tact sharp where it needs to be, capturing full expressions from the cowboy's face to the steer's tail. It is also blurred in all the right places - with boots and dirt flying. Technically hits all the marks. Love it! |

Hi Greg - I agree with your observation on the fencing - an easy fix I should think. Thanks for your help. |

Hi Ingrid - What a wonderful capture of the aspens at their peak in Colorado ~ you chose a beautiful place to live. Tom's observation about the trunks forcing the viewer to see the image as you intend is an interesting insight - it works too! Getting that depth by seeing through the stand of trees and having the 'glow' offset by pines and spruces makes for a nice composition that shows off the brilliant color of the season. I agree with Tom about the foreground tree trunks holding too much yellow as well. I'll admit I didn't notice until he pointed it out, although I believe a mask and a slight adjustment on a few select trunks would be an easy fix. Thanks for sharing! |

Hi Kamal - What a great capture! I agree on all points with Tom. I am especially impressed by your capture of the stars and that red reflection of the navigation light is amazing! Nicely done. No suggestions. |

Hi Erin - Looks like an image I would see in a travel catalog! Great angle of an iconic venue. Not a person in site is a minor miracle . . . it almost appears to be missing something :) In this case, the composition you chose provides a feeling that portrays how massive this building is and the viewer knows immediately what they are seeing. I like the texture and as Tom mentioned, the treatment of the shadow areas and the offset against that sky provide depth and balance. No suggestions. |
