Hi Karen - It surprised me . . . without those people I don't think there would have been good sense of scale. Although glad there wasn't a crowd :) I'm not the only one that has an issue with rising so early it seems. I appreciate the kind comments. Best ~ |

Thanks Tom - You are right about the noise! The opportunity was compelling enough to motivate me out of bed and was really quite enjoyable. I would definitely do it again. That said, it wasn't compelling enough to inspire a new habit . . . at least not until the next photo opportunity arises :) I appreciate your commenting on the image as well. Best ~ |

Hi Kamal - A unique image indeed! I agree with everyone's comments - a compelling image, technically well executed, and visually interesting. Karen's point of taking a bit off the top so that the focal point is not fully centered is a good one. Great story; nice capture! |

Hi Tom - Your choice of B&W was well chosen. Like Ingrid, I like the original too. Mission accomplished - the focal point is those headlights. Nice work in post. Nit picking - it may be nice to remove or darken the car part the right bottom corner. A wonderful image; nicely done! |

Hi Greg - Your Underwater Snapshot is a stunning image that leans toward the abstract. The art association I belong to had a somewhat similar image that took Best in Show at this year's National Photography Show. I believe yours is better! It has beautiful color, luminance and movement. No suggestions. A very artistic capture. I can see why it's your screen saver! Well done! |

Hi Ingrid - How wonderful it is to spend a summer on the lake! You've captured an interesting sky and who doesn't like hollyhocks? So if it were mine, I'd consider retaining both by cropping from the left. I do like Tom's suggestion of blurring the background if you're wanting to retain the beauty of the distant horizon. Inspiration can strike when it's least expected; how handy it is to have an IPhone within easy reach! |
