Hi Tom - The image is just as you so aptly described it. I like your vantage point - the leaves create a nice foreground for the image. You can tell by the debris on the sand, the whirlpool and the fallen leaves pushed together that this image shows the aftermath of a storm. What's left of the waterfall is just adding to that story. This is a nicely configured composition, highlighting nature's colors. Nice job of focus stacking. The dappled light works as well. A lovely landscape I'd love to be able to wander to in my area. |

Hi Erin - I love the contrast of the reds against the ice, the image has been simplified and the story is clear. Between your commentary and Tom's observations, just about everything I might contribute has been addressed. Well done! |

Hi Kamal - You certainly got those jute farmer's attention! I like that they are all inadvertently posing for your impromptu photograph. I also like the composition, color balance presented and your street photography approach to showing everyday workers making their living. A good solid image with all the elements working together. |

Hi Greg - Both the more formal portrait and the more relaxed, in-the-moment image are technically very well done. You've captured the real Ed's personality and a more natural look in the image presented. Wish we could see the gleam in Ed's eyes to see if it made a difference, but not sure it would. I have no suggestions - you clearly know how to photograph for portraits. What an amazing project; your time and effort yielded such impressive results and for such a worthy cause. |

Hi Karen - You've captured a beautiful sweeping vista! Good job creating a handheld panoramic image too!! Tom has a point about the houses being a bit close to the edge, although the houses take up a third of the image horizontally and helps stretch that panoramic look . . . not sure it bothered me until Tom mentioned it. Seaside Serenity works and you can almost feel that sea breeze - sure sells me on wanting to explore Oak Island. A great entry for your club's assigned subject. |

Hi Ingrid - At first glance, I thought you may have put a fine arts filter over the sky. What a unique cloud formation and an interesting capture . . . a novel thought, you know you could consider stopping the car now and then to take one of your landscape images :) I too attempted to address the noise that skies are notorious for, using Lightroom. I adjusted the luminance noise reduction and the texture sliders. You captured some beautiful backlight! |

Hi Tom - I prefer the feel of your take on my image. I have a tendency to lean toward the the aggressive crop which you demonstrate, however whenever I have done so, typically get the rules response you have anticipated. Thanks - |
