Hi Kamal - What a nice portrait, although I may have titled it, The Man's Buffalo, as the focus is on the buffalo more so than his handler. The composition works and adds context while being nicely separated from the main subject. The exposure captures detail in the buffalo. I think I liked the original's warmer cast over the one presented which is a bit cooler with a pink cast - at least on my computer. Great subject! Good capture!
Wishing you the very best this season ~

Hi Erin - What a nice composition you've created. I'm always in favor of a tighter crop if it works - in this case I think it would bring more attention to the three family members and their shadows. I like other's suggestions as well. Overall your image tells a nice story and has been well handled. Good job!

Hi Tom - What a great catch! I agree with Kamal that you might consider a somewhat tighter crop. I would keep the aspect ratio though. Also, if it were mine, I would remove the small limb extending from the tree on the left. The background is handled well creating a nice separation, the colors are well balanced and technically well processed. I agree with Greg that the texture in the trunk has been well handled and presents a nice frame for your cockatoo.

Hi Greg - Well done! I really like the lighting and I found it helpful that you provided information on equipment used, settings and your approach. The image tells a nice story, has impact, is technically well through through and is composed quite nicely. I have no suggestions for improvement. What a worthy volunteer project and a wonderful way to use your photographic skills and time. Excellent job!

Hi Kamal - Thank you, it was an interesting exercise. Milkweed wants to fly once its beyond the pod even in a basement with little air flow, so my staged set-up was always wanting to change. Enjoy the season! I'm looking forward to the photos you share with Group 14 in 2024!! All the best - |
