Hi Greg - I agree. It solved the issue of what caught my eye first. |

Hi Kamal - I was wrong about leaving the remaining boat ... it is just not distinctive enough. Otherwise, I like the changes! |

Hi Xiao - What a fascinating image. Was this image shot at night? I particularly like the textures you've brought out in processing. I agree with Greg - Tom's and Ingrid's input provided some thoughtful input and discussed any considerations I might have addressed. Good job! |

Hi Tom - What an attractive and unusual garden specimen you have there. I've only known Clivia as a houseplant. Your winters down under must be fairly mild? Your close up of the buds are quite nicely done - although I probably would have chosen buds slightly closer to opening (just a personal preference) but I do like the texture you've brought out in this image. The bug was a surprise to me and hadn't seen it either until I read your description. The composition is well done, the color balance provides some harmony and the lighting provides some of the glow you were after as well. It was also a good technique to limit distractions in the background. Wow - 20 images! I don't know enough about focus stacking ... Is there a reason you chose that many? Anyway, you were rewarded a good outcome for your efforts! |

Hi Greg - Peaceful is a good description for this Alaskan landscape. Technically well done (per usual) and the composition brings all the visual elements together nicely. The sky is lovely but on my computer shows a bit of noise that, with a little smoothing might be resolved. If it were mine, I might increase the dehaze ever so slightly as well ... my eye goes first to the landform on the right first. Add the vignette others suggest and Bob's your uncle. I've always thought an Alaskan cruise would be a great venture - thanks for sharing a small piece of your trip. |

Hi Ingrid - This image has such a tranquil feel to it. What a wonderful view for your bike ride. I like the square aspect ratio and if it were mine I would probably bring it in some for balance and to place more emphasis on the boats. The sky tells the story though - the weather is changing. It has a great feel and color to it - looks almost like a watercolor painting. I might suggest that you smooth out the sky ever so slightly to eliminate the bit of noise that I see - maybe it's just on my computer? The lighting is awesome! A lovely photograph overall - |

Hi Kamal - I love dramatic weather images. I find it difficult to capture the true scale and depth though. You have done a brilliant job of it, helped by a helicopter's vantage point. My first thought was that there was too much water in relation to the cloud formation, but any cropping reduces the impact showing the magnitude of the weather and cloud formation. I agree with Tom's idea of taking out the 'dirt spots' but I would leave the one at the bottom of the image moving toward the focal point with the wake trail behind it to reinforce the scale and dramatic impact. I agree with Ingrid's suggestion of toning down the background behind the cloud formation too. What a powerful image! |

Hi Ingrid - I would have loved more time as well. We happen to be just passing by. I got 15 or maybe 20 minutes before we had to move on to a previously scheduled commitment. Thanks for sharing your observations. |
