Hi Ingrid - I would have never guessed this was taken from a moving vehicle at 75mph! There is a nice sense of depth. I love the clouds, but wish there were more distinction between the far away mountains and the sky. The B&W image provided by Xiao provides that contrast. You might well be able to create that in post with your color version as well. A beautiful landscape and a great addition to your series. |

Hi Karen - I agree with all the positives as a result of your patience already expressed by those who have commented before me. Particularly striking for me is the choice in cropping - the panorama as the pattern is repeated by the flow of the creek and the family of geese all lined up. My only concern is the parent/guardian goose who is grazing and looks like its beak is resting on the back of the other guardian (a small nit to be sure). Perhaps elevating your camera angle slightly would have created the small bit of space needed? I say that knowing whatever movement by you may have undone all your efforts to calm this family and perhaps would have changed this scene entirely. A nice capture of a family of geese going about their day. |

Hi Greg - Your lighting strategy worked quite well - making the photo. You also made the right choice in cropping in close and tidying up the background from distraction. I wonder if you might consider cropping just a tad more - just up to the model's jeans and flipping the photograph horizontally? A lovely portrait! |

Hi Tom - Texture into the mid-ground - I'll have to give that a try. Thanks for your input and perspective! |

Hi Tom - The moon and sky you've created as a background provides a nice impact and an atmosphere that's enchanting. I like that the land rises across the image with the horizon bringing my eye to the lighthouse and that moon just keeping me there. As mentioned, with a moon that bright, the foreground needs either to be lightened slightly or even just some texture showing. That said, your aptitude for creative post processing is showing - nicely done! |

Hi Xiao - What a compelling image. As others mention, the background architecture and lighting creates impact in how it frames the model as the focal point. There is a triangle created by that bright blue bag, the watch face and the model's eyes that also keeps me drawn in and further strengthens the model as the focal point as well. Would that be true if the bright blue of the handbag was diminished? Maybe/maybe not. Your flair for cleaning up/straightening the background is well done too. One of your best efforts - well done! |

Hi Kamal - Everyone has provided good thoughts for consideration. It's a creative and effective black/white composition. I like the contrast created by the white background and the spacing . . . much like a matte/mount or the white of a page, it allows me to concentrate on each element individually. It tells a lovely story that draws you in as well. Nicely done! |

Thanks for your input Kamal. Mapleton Hill is such a lovely part of the city. The composition is what grabbed my attention when I happened by. |
