Hi Ingrid - Thanks for the Harmonization tip! I don't use Photoshop all that much, but you've suggested some of the software's capabilities that make me interested in learning more. Best - |

Hi Kamal - I think you've shown that this image could work as a monochrome . . . still think its a bit dark, but your version certainly works too! |

Hi Xiao - The lens focal length is 18-400mm. It's a telephoto all-in-one zoom lens and typically my go-to lens. I wish I did have a macro lens . . . it's on my wish-list. Anyway, this lens is capable; I'm afraid the operator could have done better :) Thanks for your input. |

Hi Kamal - I agree with Greg and Tom's remarks. A good aerial image that was handled well in post. I like that you provided a full shot of the landscape environment and because the sky wasn't all that interesting, took the shot with less rather than more. You might even be able to get away with cutting out even more of the sky. A lovely capture of nature a world away from mine. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Xiao - I agree that your processing in post makes for a better image all around. Nice job in particular on bringing her shoe back into the image. The title provided also helps tell the story of the model in modern attire in an environment from another era. The print on the dress does not show as well as a larger print or a solid color might. Nicely done overall! I appreciate your sharing your updated images. |

WOW Tom! - What a lovely image; very well done! I think you are right about what the pontoon adds. While all true, if it were mine, I would probably crop the pontoon out right at its edge to simplify the composition. The matching dark tones and values of the water and sky create a neutral background and draw the viewer to the focal point. I like how the rock barrier and that wonderful lighting takes the viewer to the horizon. The lighting makes this image. A great capture and very nicely processed in post - |

Hi Greg - I agree that you took last month's tips and suggestions to heart and the technical improvements show - nicely done! A minor concern - The model seems placed a bit too centered under the bridge. . . a personal preference perhaps. Also, I'm not quite convinced that the model is really at that location. My guess is that it is the difference in lighting between the two composite images. Big points for persistence in working to improve a new technique! Best - |

Hi Karen - I am struck by the colors - the clay walls contrasted with a bare, but brilliant clear blue sky and offset with the shabby-chic feel of the white trim. The geometric angles were well seen and captured. I agree with cropping out the banister to the seam in the wall. That will simplify the image, bring more focus to the abstract angles created by your composition, and help keep the viewer's eye in the image. Thanks for sharing - |

Hi Ingrid - I like the composition, the textures and the colors that bring the entire image together as a whole. I particularly like how you captured the reflection in the window, and the slightly pulled-back curtain which leaves the viewer to his/her imagination pulling you in beyond just the window as a focal point. It has a bit of an overcast feel to it. If it were mine I might try to lighten the image overall a bit but then again perhaps that would change the whole feel . . . maybe worth a try to see what you think. Really a very nice capture overall. |
