14 Jan 22 Reply Hi Ingrid - I agree that the sky and water need some attention as discussed by Greg and others. I appreciate the suggestion to explore just how dark to take the sky. Thanks. Jan 16th
14 Jan 22 Reply Thanks Kamal - I'm glad you liked the image and have an appreciation for the history supporting this memorial ship. Jan 16th
14 Jan 22 Comment Hi Kamal - My eye is drawn to the protest poster but then to the activity blurred in the distance as it appears that is where the center of the action is coming toward you and that poster. It would have been nice to close that gap and capture the image with both in focus. For the image as is, I would suggest cropping off some from the top of the photo to place more focus on the crowd. It is a nice center of the crowd photo journalistic image with a strong story. I particularly like the man who appears to be taking your picture while you're taking his.

Wishing you the best in all-things photography for the coming year.

14 Jan 22 Reply Hi Karen - It was amazing how narrow it was considering it's length. Thanks for commenting. Jan 11th
14 Jan 22 Comment Hi Ingrid - The composition is nice and the overall texture makes this image. Your ability to stop action going 75mph is amazing. I agree with your decision not to go black and white. There is not much of a story if you didn't know the title and the entire scene collectively serves as the center of interest. Thanks for sharing.

14 Jan 22 Reply Thanks Greg - I appreciate the work on creating other processing options. I think darkening the sky does bring out the texture in the clouds, but it also runs the risk (if not subtle enough) of limiting the contrast between the sky and the ship which can work against your intent. I do like the effect of darkening the water on the left side. A nice alternative overall. Jan 5th
14 Jan 22 Comment Hi Greg - I have been to Delicate Arch several times and have not experienced this scene without other people on-site. While I agree that people would give the image scale, I don't miss them either. I like the lighting and the angle of the setting sun coming from the right. Your composition is quite nice as well with it framing the mountains. Well done!

14 Jan 22 Comment Hi Tom - I think the composition is creative and has impact. There is a harmony to the image created by the vibrant colors of the King Parrot and in the focus of the bird including its eye and head and in blurring the background a touch. The texture in the foliage creates a nice contrast to the parrot's overall look. Your efforts in the bright areas have worked. A very nice image.

14 Jan 22 Comment Hi Xiao - I like the natural, relaxed look of your model and the treatment of the stone on the building. As mentioned, the reflection of the truck and the model's skin tone needs some attention. Otherwise, the image is nicely composed and my focus goes directly to those socks/shoes after first noticing the model's face which I believe is what you want. Whatever you did with the shoe, is well done and I can't tell what care it might have needed.

14 Jan 22 Reply Hi Tom - Thanks for the feedback. I did cut some distracting elements out of the image by cropping out a little off both sides. I agree there would be better balance had there been something worthwhile on the left side of the image. Jan 3rd
