Thanks Karen - Seems appears unanimous. I'll see what I can do with the colors. I little bit more of a crop off the top should help as well. I appreciate the input! |

Thanks Tom - Just a lucky opportunity with my camera at hand. I keep working on trying to create a more dramatic feel in post. I'm a bit conservative in wanting to not overdo. It always helps to have another go in post after we talk though. Best ~ |

Hi Kamal - Your preference for capturing images from above make them interesting and often times quite impactful. The bright and beautiful colors and textures draw the viewer's eye making me want to examine the detail and understand what we're seeing all the more. Particularly interesting is how clear the image is given the number of oil lamps/candles and/or incense used by so many - is there a particular trick to that or was the timing just right? How fortunate you were to be able to attend the ashram where this tradition originated. The image is quite effective and well processed. |

Hi Xiao - You effectively use models in creatively contemplative poses, which I believe is particularly hard to pull off. Most images such as these require some action to make them interesting . . . that doesn't seem necessary in your compositions. The difference in exposure between the mirror and model doesn't bother me and use of the mirror made the composition more appealing. The mirrored distortion with the model's legs is somewhat of a distraction as mentioned by Greg and Tom. I think the model's attire added to the overall appeal of the photograph. Very nicely executed! |

Hi Tom - What an attention-grabbing and curiously creative image in line with the season. The composition is delightful and playful yet haunting given the selection of the tunnel as a background. The lighting makes the image and effectively creates the aura you were after. Well done! |

Hi Greg - I am going to miss your Westcliff series; you captured some beautiful images and this photo of a lovely old barn is very well done too. Your processing is spot on and enhances the image in all the right places, from illuminating the barn to the saturation in the sky. The textures are rich and vignetting successful, creating a wonderfully handsome image. I have nothing to add that I think would improve the image technically or aesthetically. Nice job! |

Hi Karen - I like the angle of the shot which allows the viewer to focus on the repetitive circular patterns created by the machinery following through to the steering wheel which seems most in focus. Your post processing illuminated the engineer's face, making it a focal point as well. I particularly like your choices in cleaning up the image by removing background distractions and tightening into the image. The subject matter is appropriate to the story being told and it all comes together nicely. |

Confucius said - "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it." I'm impressed that you were so inspired at 75 mph coming up on this scene and I love that you enjoy your photography enough to play along the way. Congratulations on getting the focus just right especially given the circumstances. I like your end result; I also like the spin that Tom gave it - it's a subtle change that provides more contrast and improves upon the photo's impact. Good color balance - I think the tones work well together and effectively support the image as well. Overall - a really nice opportunity shot Ingrid! |
