Hi Kamal (I hope I'm addressing you appropriately; I believe you mentioned the preference of Kamal at one point) - Your photojournalistic street scenes are always so interesting and colorful. A very down-to earth everyday portrait of a market environment. I like that you removed the gentleman from the upper left hand side. I might have also removed the person in the light plaid in the upper middle as well just because they are cut through at the middle and dressed in a light fabric - which could appear as a slight distraction to some. Well done; well captured; nice story. |

Thanks Kamal - Pelicans seem to be wary of any attention. Capturing this shot was a bit of luck and an exercise in patience. As mentioned - the suggestions of a vignette and blurring are helpful. Best - |

Hi Tom - The vignettes you implemented are effective yet subtle - which tends to be my preference . . . although I must admit there have been a few exceptions where a very noticeable vignette has proved quite helpful in elevating an image. The Photoshop technique works - thanks for sharing. |

Hi Greg - I think you are right . . . There is a slight vignette that was added to this photograph. Without the crop to pano, I don't think it would have been as interesting even with a vignette - too much water and grass/reeds that didn't really add to the photo. Thanks for the input! |

Hi Ingrid - It is amazing the quality of photos from IPhones these days! I adore that golden hour glow reflected in the water, that beautiful sky and the silhouettes of the dock and distant landscape. The evening light starburst adds a touch of magic to the image as well. I wonder though what is the main focus - it seems that the starburst and sailboat are competing for attention a bit . . . the stark white on the boat draws my attention away from the larger whole. Overall - a nice composition and an beautiful capture. |

Hi Greg - You really got some nice shots at that Colorado ranch! I like your cropping choice by leaving in some room for those horses to run in the foreground and taking out a good portion of the sky. Nice lighting, though I am not sure why the shadow is strong on the ground of the most left rider, less strong on the middle and non-existent for the right rider. I like that the horses are kicking up some dust providing a sense of the action. The cowboys/girls seem to be genuinely enjoying the moment which makes me smile and drawn to their faces. Good job in processing which made for a very lovely photograph. |

Hi Tom - What a beautiful use of color and leading lines. The back story is as interesting as the image. Your post processing strengthens even further the already strong composition. The strong blue/purple on the focal point draws you eye directly to the tin structure . . . seems a bit harsh but it also works. I particularly like the impact and abstract feel created in the sky. Nice job all around resulting in a striking photograph. |

Hi Xiao - You have captured a strong composition. I like the depth you've achieved that is accentuated by the lightest marigold being the focal point as the rest of the image fades out of focus. The water droplets reflect the light nicely and I particularly like how they stand out on the marigold's petal edges of the main flower. The green leaf draws one into that focal point as well. One minor distraction that my eye seems to gravitate to, is the stem of the bud which is sharper than the bud itself in the upper left corner. A very nice botanical image and I believe you've accomplished your goal of improving upon your previous month's submission. |
