Thanks Tom - I like your idea of sharpening the point of interest only and applying a blur to the rest. I worked with this image from my archives but will try a macro/close up shot of a fresh rose and see if I like the results any better. |

I like this image! It has an artsy feel without processing it as such. What a wonderful way to spend the pandemic and what a marvelous image(s) you have to show for it as a result. Happy New Year! |

John - This is a beautiful orchid and from many perspectives you've done it justice. The lighting seems a bit harsh though, making the orchid appear tough rather than delicate. Also, while purely a personal choice, I don't think the double key line is really necessary - I'm just not a fan. In all other respects, you've done a brilliant job. Titles can be important and this one is very appropriate. Happy New Year!

Greg - What a nice improvement over the original. It's great to have such a beautiful and historical structure as the main focal point for your starting point. You have done a marvelous job with the processing. I agree with you about the scale and color added by those on site - yet they are a subtle and are not a distraction. Happy New Year! |

Tom - What an interesting and intriguing flower. I particularly like that you have chosen a specimen that hasn't fully opened. The colors are beautiful and enhanced by the lighting and background you've captured. Nice job! Happy New Year! |

Xiao - There is a nice balance of color to this image. The model makes a strong center of interest. My eye is a bit distracted by the handrail meeting the model's chest. Perhaps darkening the area behind the model and pillar (or is it a wall?) may be all it takes to help. Otherwise, a good solid photograph. Happy New Year! |
