Hi Tom - Just wondering if you saw the Group 27 submission this month titled Silos at Grenfell by Danny Dunne. |

Thanks Quang - It is interesting you mention the light bokeh. I was wondering if it would be seen as a positive or a distraction to anyone. I appreciate your insights. |

I tend to prefer the original image - exposure and lighting is better. However you did some nice post processing, ridding the submitted photo of some of the city's distractions. I like the crop suggested by Tom as it simplifies and balances the shot. As always, you have a good eye for capturing your models in the moment in the midst of the chaos of city life. You have good reason to like this photograph . . . I like it too! |

The eye is tack sharp with a bit of catch-light. While not a straight on portrait, it appears this lorikeet is fully aware of your presence, the angle provides some personality (if you can call it that) and the image has good impact with the the main focus surrounded by flowers. The image is further enhanced by the suggested crops - I like your 2nd take best. Nice capture! |

I think my colleagues have about covered any critique I would have shared. The post-processing is nicely done - love the colors. A good solid image Greg. |

Hi John - This vast image makes me want to strike out to visit more national parks. Well done right out of the camera - good exposure creating the proper contrast and color balance. I get Tom's point regarding the bit of sky. I personally would have preferred to either see a bit more sky or none at all. If the latter, the trees could provide the necessary scale. A solid image with a nice 'WOW' factor! |

Hi Quang - A very creative use of light. The thick rainbow stripes of color are unique and quite effective . . . the use of the model is a nice element as well. I tend to agree that the focus should be on the light painting, model and related reflections so cropping out other distractions might help create more impact. Nice technique and execution overall - |

I appreciate the generous comments and advice. I'll work on that bright spot. I haven't sold images, but I agree that the conversion to a fine art image is quite nice . . . it looks more like an illustration. Thank you. |

Thanks Gregory - It would have been a nice touch if he caught something I suppose or I had gotten better shots of him on the move. Not to be but I thought his piercing look and the placement of his talons added a little personality (if I can call it that?) to the portrait. |
