The trees add a nice layer as Greg mentions. I think I agree with Arun's perspective though and as minor as it is, that little fringe of treetops on the lower right I probably would have cropped out. Otherwise a wonderful monochrome photo. I particularly like the contrast created by the clouds producing shadows that are cast strategically throughout the image. |

Syed - WOW! What incredibly vibrant colors you've captured! A very feel good photograph capturing a cultural experience in an impactful way. A great example of street/travel photography . . . just as it is. |

The white t-shirt against the red background provides strong impact which is just what is needed for such a straightforward portrait. The light is handled well and it's sharp throughout. A minor suggestion might be to crop some off the top. Nicely done - |

Thanks Xiao for providing input. The shadows are from trees that line the bank of the creek. Since this photo was taken late morning, I welcomed the dappled light to reduce the harshness of the high altitude sun on the water and thought it added a nice contrast. That said, I'll take a closer look to see where shadows might be a concern. |

I used the graduated filter on the top right and the bottom left to address Arun's and Tom's concerns. I also cropped a tad off the top and upped the greens to highlight the lichen a bit. Thoughts? |

Thanks Tom - I can see the need for improvement in the lower left and like your solution. I'll give it a try. Best - |

Other than the distraction in colors being off, as already mentioned, I think the image would have met your intent of focusing on the foliage in front of the boulder. I find the background and sky more interesting as presented. I give you points for the effort and testing your PS skills given your starting point Tom :o) |

Your post processing turned out well all around and is much improved over the original. Your rearrangement for composition makes all the difference. Going forward, I will be paying more attention to the file size issue Arun mentions as well. |

I like your choices in processing the sky and tower. The composition of the photo, which was spot on in camera, takes my eye to the main focal point. I like that the clouds add interest and keep your eye on the tower as well. My tendency would have been to crop out the road, but it clearly works to leave it in. |

I like that your changes bring out more of the lichen and it does address the upper right corner concern. Thanks for sharing. |

Thanks Arun - I'll play around with the exposure a bit and see how that impacts the photograph. |
