The lighting makes this photo and nicely compliments the main subject. The contrast of highlights and shadows really help the image as does the composition and rich colors. It's a beautiful photograph. Well done. |

I like your choices. The story, the composition, the colors and the mood of the photo are all appealing. Arun and Bill provided some good critique regarding the blurred outline and the slight tilt. The benefit of being further down in the commentary is sometimes there is nothing left to add. Amazing what you find by going back through the archives. |

This is an exceptionally strong image. You are right - the lighting is fabulous! You did a great job in post processing. All the elements work together. Thanks for sharing. |

A nice stop action photo that really takes me back. Growing up I had friends whose dad was a speed boat racer and we spent many weekends watching him race. I am reminded that these races are always in the heat of the day and I get that from this photo - while sharp, the lighting seems a bit harsh. If this were my photograph and the original allowed, I would have cropped the rocks/shoreline out and not cropped it so tight - front and back. I enjoyed your submission and appreciate your reminding me of some fond memories. |

I think that you were successful in your efforts. Excellent sharpness on the horse's head/eye and the rider's face in particular. I also like your background post processing choices. The photograph is cropped a bit tight on the right and the bar is somewhat distracting on the bottom. All said, this photograph has great impact. |

I have little concern with your photo Arun. The shopkeeper's red shirt gives my eye a place to rest, creates a center of interest and provides good color balance. It doesn't bother me that there is only a partial of the man's face - in fact, I think it fits the image. Gregory has a good point about the bright area on the upper right side. I think it's a nice grab and a strong image technically. |

I agree with your comments about losing the main focus in all that water and the effect of the lighting. Converting to black and white, I thought the result might be diminished. Your comments though have made me think otherwise. Thanks Bill. |

I appreciate your taking time with the photo to see what else could work. I'll use the level adjustment and crop further. I've never been a fan of the white vignette feature - not sure why. In this example though it seems to create a bit of a bull's eye effect which I'm not sure I'm after. |

Thanks for your observations Arun. Seems as if we are all in agreement on further cropping - see Gregory's and Bill's comments too. |
