Thank you, everyone! I will experiment with removing the tree, or at least part of it, as Chan's crop makes the people crammed into the corner a bit more than I am comfortable with. I did brighten the subject a bit and also added a vignette, but Steven's example shows me that I probably didn't do enough. I appreciate all your suggestions and comments! |

Beautiful, sharp hummingbirds! I think your decision to remove the third bird was a good one. And your cropping successfully removed a lot of distraction. I agree with Steven that the darker background and branch allow the birds to appear more vibrant. Congratulations on capturing such a fine image! |

The color pallette of this image is quite beautiful. I think I agree with Cincy that the molding might be better off gone. It looks like you must have used a fairly wide aperture with a very shallow depth of field, causing the upper part of the candle to be a bit out of focus, That, on its own, might not have been a problem, but the flowers make up a dominant amount of the image and they are very much out of focus, which I find distracting. Perhaps you could try cropping out even more of the flowers, thereby emphasizing the candle. Also, a small amount of straightening might also improve the image. It amazes me how continuing to work on a single image can really be a learning tool. |

I've never tried food photography, but I can see why this appealed to you. Kudos to you for experimenting! Children, even when they are grown, are part of what keeps us young. As are cameras, I find. |

The central flower really does stand out, with good detail on the petals. It strikes me as ever so slightly soft, but in a flower image I think it adds a bit of dreaminess to the image. |

A very commendable first effort!!! You did a great job of focusing. I'm no expert on astro photography processing, but it looks good to me. And the trees really add to the overall effect. |

Thank you Cindy! The conch shell was part of the ceremony. I considered taking it out for the sake of simplicity, but the eerie sound was so beautiful that I had to leave it in. |
