Thanks Cindy! I'm a bit of a sucker for geometric images, and glad that you noticed that aspect of this photo. |

Thanks for your kind comments, Dale! In spite of its shortcomings, I really like this image and I'm glad you found things about it to like! |

Thanks Steven. I think you are right about the the size of the babies, and perhaps I will stumble upon another scene where I can switch to a larger lens and get a more impactful image. |

You really are improving! I love how you are sticking with your quest to keep getting better images. I agree with Chan about the feeder. I kept looking for ways to crop it out, but there really isn't any. Perhaps you could desaturate the red to make it less attention-grabbing. You might have to resort to getting a different feeder that is less dominant - perhaps a smaller one that is mostly clear. But then you might have trouble getting the birds to be attracted to it. Maybe getting some kind of flower that they really like? Flowers can be smaller and less dominating. It could be fun figuring out different things to try! |

The image is very artistic, almost abstract, and kind of hypnotic. The f/2.8 aperture makes for a shallow depth of field, which is perfect for this flower. I am a bit confused about your reference to tree moss and bark - the out of focus areas surrounding the flower are so magenta, I can't see it as moss, even knowing it is there. Is this a composite? |

I love the bright pastels in this image and I also like how the tree trunks are in sharp focus, while the foliage is soft, but not blurry. To me, the overall effect is almost impressionistic, but not in a way that makes it look like a painting. Rather, it creates a mood or invocation of spring and lushness. I can imagine warmth and humming insects. I wish there was a bit more of the pink flowers and a tiny bit less of the foreground. |

I think this is an intriguing image. You definitely captured the concentration and I had the impression of beads of sweat on the man's face. I thought the chalkboard sketch showed the planning that goes into glass blowing, and I really liked the furnace and the way the red glow reflected off the man's face. This is a wonderful study of glass blowing. |

I am amazed at how much your use of the impressionist brush changed the whole mood of the image! The serene facial expression was preserved, but you gave the whole scene a timeless feeling. I am amazed that this is your first attempt and I think it is definitely worth doing! |

An image with a sense of mystery. I agree that the man looks sad or resigned, as if he is gazing out, but really dealing with something within. And the desolate landscape adds to the feeling. Cindy's and Steven's suggestions were both very appropriate, and I really like what Steven did with the image. Cell phones do a fantastic job, but sometimes a little tweaking in LR or PS can take a good image and make it great. |

Thank you Chan, I appreciate your comments. I was worried that all the patterns would make it convfusing, and I guess it did. Thanks for sticking with it until you found the ducks! I like the idea of a wood cut print! |
