The guides I had from Action Photo Tours are going out on their own and their new company is called Storm Photo Tours. Their names are Greg McCown and John Sirlin and they are a terrific team. Check their website and see what they have available! Here is a link to an article about Greg - this happened on the trip I was on! I, unfortunately, was off with John and a few others in a different area and didn't get the sprites:

Thank you Dale! I definitely want to print a few of my storm images. It's really hard to compose these photos in camera since lightning is so unpredictable. Cropping was my friend! And it's hard to beat Arizona for scenic backdrops. |

Thanks, Chan. I think the term storm chasing makes it sound more dangerous than it is. Our leader described what we were doing as "weather photography" to the border patrol agents who stopped us.
With thunderstorms we tried to get out in front of them and photograph them as they came toward us. For tornados I think the plan is for us to stay to the side of the storms and let them pass by us rather than come at us. No way do I want to be inside one! |

Thanks, Steven! The juxtaposition is really what makes this one of my two favorite images of the trip. Since everyone said such nice things about this one, I might just send in the other one for September! I never felt in any danger from the storms - in fact the scariest part of the trip was having our car stopped by the border patrol. |

I traveled with Action Photo Tours, based in Kanab, Utah. I've been on three of their trips and was impressed with all of them. I think you would love their trips! |

Thanks, Cindy! I felt really lucky to get a rainbow and lightning in the same frame - an unexpected conjunction of atmospheric phenomena. That silly phrase jumped into my head when I first saw this on my screen. I feel so lucky to have been there to see this storm. |

I will definitely be careful! These storms are so huge you really don't have to get too close to get interesting photos. |

A very evocative image! The wet streets and the limited color palette add interest. I think it shows more than dumb luck - you had to be out there and have your camera and a good eye to see the potential of the scene. I think you made your own luck! |

One sign of a good image is the many different stories viewers cone up with! It is really thought provoking and it holds my attention. I've heard of Monhegan Island but have never managed to visit. |

Very cool bee with all that pollen! The focus on the bee is great and the background is perfect. Good eye to spot this insect on a walk through a park! |

Sorry to hear about the Covid, but glad you are over it.
After reading the comments and looking at the photo many times, I'm leaning toward asymmetries in the glass as part of the problem. I love all the different ways the colors were diffracted - especially in the stem and base. A really fun photo! |

At first I thought you were panning, but then noticed that parts of the boy were blurred and parts not - I like the effect better than straight panning - very artistic! You inspire me to work harder at Photoshop! |

I love the combination of soft tones and sharp reflections. And the sense of stillness is wonderful! |
