Thanks Chan. I agree - I will work on that before I try to print this image!

I was focusing on the birds, auto focus, but I either don't have or don't know how to check the exact point of focus. I had a high ISO because just prior to this the cloud cover was a lot thicker and it was darker. When it got brighter, the resulting high shutter speed was able to freeze the motion of the birds. I wish I had switched to f/9 or 11 to get the background more in focus, but everything happened quickly. |

Thanks Lance! And I like the horizontal branch. Hard to imagine an intersection near this barn - I pictured you tromping through the woods! |

What a nice rainbow! It seems to be holding the light, or even shining its light, to the left side of the image, while the right side is darker - very mysterious looking! You could possibly crop a small amount from the right side, since the darkness there carries more weight, but a beautiful capture just the way it is. |

Hi Will,
Wonderful use of light! I love the dappled sunlight on the wall. And great detail - I love how the muscles of the rider's leg and arm show up. Black and white was a good choice, and you managed not to blow out the highlights even in harsh light. The only thing I would change is the distance between the rider's head and the top of the photo. |

You certainly reached your goals! What a gorgeous scene - perfect colors, beautiful reflections, and my eye happily follows the river. I like the hanging branch in the foreground. |

Well done, Steven! I agree with Will about your choice of shutter speed. The wings show motion, and the near one has a translucent quality that I don't think I've seen before. The rest of the bird is so sharp! What a way to commemorate your first hummingbird sighting! |

Hi Chan!
You continue to amaze me with the creative way you photograph objects you find around your house! I would have never thought to surround the dulcimer with vines. Your Photoshop composite is wonderfully well done. I have had my struggles with Photoshop and mostly avoid it, but I admire what a skilled person can accomplish with it.

A beautiful scene, and I love your processing! It is unusual to see a barn in a wooded area like this, and that adds to the interest. I would love to hear the reasoning behind the green filter. I would love to see the difference with and without the filter - I'll have to experiment with some of my own autumn photos! I like barn photos, in general, but I love this one! |
