Thanks for pointing out the tree branches along the bottom! Good to have other eyes reporting what they see. |

That is true! However, at the refuge one must stay in one's car, on the dirt road, so the opportunity to move around is limited. Next time I will find the background that I like (like the hills - some parts of the road have Highway 5 traffic as part of the background) and just park myself there as the birds come and go. At some point they should head in my direction! |

Yes, the tail view was regrettable. Something to work on next trip to the refuge!

Hi Cindy,
I love your heron, especially the beautiful feathers. And the light on the water is reflected very nicely! So nice to have such a lovely frequent visitor. |

Hi Will,
I really like the image, especially the textured reflections of the bright colors! And the slight curvature in the red cylinder in the middle gives my eye something to come back to, over and over. My guess would be playdough. You might consider smoothing the green one a bit. |

Hi Dale,
I really feel the cold, cloudy day in this photo. And I like the reflection of the golden bridge piers. I'm wondering if a slight bit more contrast in the sky would emphasize the storm clouds a bit more, but it is beautiful as it is. |

Hi Steven,
You did a great job of making the eagle appear to be in the wild! Amazing that you could get this shot through a chain link fence. You got good depth of field @ f6.3, and the background is nicely blurred. |

Hi Chan,
What an interesting take on the Japanese sense of aesthetics!
Art is all around us. I like the red border. I wonder about including the handle end of the rod, but perhaps that would unbalance the composition. |

Hi Lance,
What a beautiful sight to greet you in the morning! I agree that the grain is a plus. Even though it is shadows you are capturing, I can't help but wonder what a color rendition of this scene would look like, with just the smallest amount of golden or pinkish sunrise colored light. |
