87 Dec 21 Reply Thank you, Chan! I have thought about entering it in my club's January competition - thanks for the encouragement! Dec 17th
87 Dec 21 Reply Thank you Dale! I appreciate your comments and that you understood my intentions! Dec 17th
87 Dec 21 Comment Hi Cindy! I love how your subjects are so calmly balanced on the narrow railing! And the baby is so safely enfolded by mom! As Steven mentioned, it makes a good leading line. You did a good job focusing on the subjects and blurring the background. A vignette might help make the bright areas in the background less obvious. I've heard these animals can be quite aggressive, so it makes sense to photograph them while they are focused elsewhere. Dec 17th
87 Dec 21 Reply Thank you Cindy! I was safely in a Polar Rover, so not scary at all. We were probably 100 feet away. I kept wishing I could be out on the ground, but knowing that wouldn't be a smart thing to do. Dec 10th
87 Dec 21 Reply I like it too! Dec 4th
87 Dec 21 Comment Hi Will,

Such an unusual waterfall! I like the slow shutter speed and I agree that the vertical orientation is appropriate and I think the color version adds a lot of interest and establishes the autumn time frame.

87 Dec 21 Comment Hi Dale,

A beautiful winter scene! The people add a lot of interest and you have included enough of the surroundings to show that they are out enjoying the winter weather away from other people. It's like a small peek into their private world.

87 Dec 21 Comment Hi Steven,

I love the expressions you captured on both animals! To me, the youngster looks demanding and the mom looks totally unperturbed! They both portray very human emotions/expressions and make for a very impactful photograph. Might be nice in B&W since it is almost monochrome anyway. That way the green in the background would be less distracting, though it isn't bad at all. I like it very much!

87 Dec 21 Comment Hi Chan,

What a lovely portrait of your wife! And Lacy, too! You did a great job using available light. It is soft and natural on both subjects. I see what Steven means about the blinds, but would not crop it due to the perspective making the knees look larger.

87 Dec 21 Comment Hi Lance,

Not the winter scene I would expect from Georgia, but lovely. I think the blue could be toned down just a bit, but not too much - I tend to have a lot of blue in my images, and I get dinged for it quite often, so perhaps I am being influenced by that. Snow does a wonderful job of making a broken down building look charming!
