I think it does make a difference! It surprises me, but I suppose decades of reading left to right gets our brains into a rut. It would be interesting to do a comparison of photos from other cultures where reading is done right to left or top to bottom. I wonder if we would find those images as appealing? I can imagine some interesting Psych 101 experiments on the subject!

Hi Dale,
A beautiful car and you really did it justice! You said you used Color Effex 4 detail extractor - I've never tried Color Effex at all, and didn't know there was a detail filter. There is so much out there that I've never tried. Thanks for the education! |

Hi Steven,
A beautiful winter scene! I love the lacy branches of the deciduous trees and the way the snow piles onto the evergreens. The bridge and its shadow tie everything together.

Hi Chan,
Next time I start thinking there is nothing to photograph, I will think about you! It's easy to overlook things we see every day. I like your image and I like the lively conversation it sparked! |

Hi Lance,
I really like your idea of dividing the image into four separate images - sort of a reminder to look at the parts of the image, not just the whole - seeing pictures within pictures, in a way. I love how you make us think! I picture this printed as four metal prints that stand out from a wall and mounted fairly close to each other without any frames. |

Thanks to all three of you for your excellent suggestions! I will try dialing down the yellows to cut down on blurring. I will also go back and get rid of the orange thingy and the other distractions. I planned to use the image as part of a journalism entry to my club competition, and that type of manipulation is not permitted in that category. But I certainly make another image with those modifications1! |
