I did dehaze it some, and I slightly lightened the breaking wave. I also played with the color temperature because I had the white balance set to shade and it made everything very yellow. When I still wasn't happy I converted to B&W. I really like what Steven did, but I will also go back and see what I can do to show more of the fog as you suggested. |

Hi Graham,
The textures and shapes in this image are wonderful! How were you ever able to get that staircase with no people? The lighting is very nice, though I agree with Steven about the ceiling light fixture. And I never would have thought of flipping the image horizontally! What a team you and Steven make! |

Hi Jo,
Wonderful portrait! I especially like the eye contact with the subject, and the hands leading up to the face make a very interesting, inverted triangle effect that I find very striking. Your attention to detail with the added bricks is a very professional touch. I like your alternate shot, also, especially because there is more separation between the subject and the smoke. |

Hi Dale!
So nice to see the different stages of autumn this round! I really like what you did with the tunnel effect and the golden leaves at the end of the tunnel! And the lower perspective emphasizes the leaves on the ground, which adds to the seasonal feel. I agree with Steven about the bright sky in the upper left. |

It does have a painterly quality, and the colors are beautiful. I like that the texture of the big tree is somewhat preserved. I'm a little unsure of the composition, or maybe balance, with the one large tree on the right, especially since the scene to the right of that tree is so different and brighter and keeps drawing my eye. Maybe crop a little closer to the tree? |

Hi Lance,
I like the idea of horizontal and vertical lines together! The misty, late autumn feeling is very effective and makes me want to try some bad weather shots. Perhaps I am nostalgic for rain by this time of the year in California. |

Thank you, Steven! I really like what you did. I was trying to keep the fog in the image, but it really isn't necessary for the rocks to be so greyed out. I'm going to work on it some more! |
