Thanks Dale! It's my favorite tea cup. I actually don't have any saucers as I usually use mugs. |

I used my 24 - 70 mm lens at 70 mm. This was a panorama using 3 images, I think. I did the conversion in Lightroom. As I recall, I used a tripod, but I can't swear to that. |

I'm so impressed by your steady hand, especially around the mane! |

Steven, I think you just tipped the balance! Thanks so much for that feedback. I am scheduled to go see polar bears in Churchill in November, and if that doesn't get cancelled (like 4 planned trips for 2020 have already) I am buying that camera the beginning of October. |

Thanks, Lance!
That tea bag certainly bothered people. It's the kind with no string and I should have taken it out before making the photograph. I see that I will really have to redo this still life and incorporate all the good suggestions I have received! |

Thank you, Stephen! I'm blown away by all the helpful suggestions, both yours and others. Partially working the puzzle would be a nice touch and including reading glasses would be realistic for me. Using ink would be a bit of fantasy, but there is no rule against lying in a photo! |

Thanks, Steven, for more helpful suggestions! I do have some lights I could experiment with, and shadows might be a nice addition. And I should also get in the habit of taking shots at different apertures to see what differences I get.
Thanks for taking the time to make such helpful comments. |

Thanks, Chan! Good suggestion to move the table away from the wall. And I agree about the brightness on the right. I actually did try to tone it down, but not enough, I see. I need to calibrate my monitor. |

Hi Graham,
I love your marsh reflection! And I like the red reflection in the center bottom as there are red berries or whatever on the right that more or less explain what they are. The only thing I found distracting was the red dot in the upper left hand corner. I guess it could be a red bird, but in that case I wish I could see it closer. Might be better to just take it out.
Your Spirit Island image is just beautiful. Sometimes perfection is just perfect. I can imagine never getting tired of seeing that image on my wall. I think I agree with Steven about the branches in the lower right corner, but I didn't notice them until he mentioned them. And I share Chan's envy and desire to see it for myself! |

Hi Dale!
I really like your image and your choice to make the barn a part of the landscape rather than an overwhelming subject. And I agree that monochrome is a good choice for this winter scene. The focus looks very good throughout the whole image, so your choice of f/9 was a good one. I'm wondering if a little more contrast would make the image pop more, but then perhaps your intention was a more subtle, quiet scene, and this you have certainly achieved!

Hi Chan,
I was glad to revisit this beautiful spot! I, too, would like to have seen the top of the tree in the reflection, but I understand the difficulty of choosing just one image to send in.
I enjoyed your interesting conversation with Steven about equipment - the old 'how many cameras do you need? Just one more' syndrome. I have both full frame and crop sensor Sony cameras, but I am thinking of getting the Sony RX 10 mark iv (or the next version that comes out) because it is a bridge camera with a 600 mm equivalent range and it would mean not having to carry other lenses. Weight is an issue for me, too. |

This is so very different from the Tetons shots I took in January - I was so taken with the mountains that I didn't want to photograph anything else, happily staying in the box. Your photo is an inspiration to step outside that box a bit the next time I get to that area. Assuming that ever happens! |

Jo, this is lovely! How were you able to get the black background? Very nice focus and composition. |
