Hi Irene,
The higher resolution helps a lot! Much sharper. Also, I hear you about the husband thing and also about trying to get better at black and white. I'm going to try for a monochrome in May! |

Hi Graham,
Your 60 second exposure did wonders for the water - not only smooth, but reflective! Very nice. I love the sharpness of the buildings and the luminosity of the sky. And the piles separate the water into nice curved leading lines. I really like the image and the only thing I could wish for is a little more light, which may well have been there on your original, higher resolution image. |

Hi Irene,
I really like the leading lines in your composition! Also, your crop was subtle, but effective. The focus seems a little soft, but the low resolution of screen images may be contributing to that illusion. The original looks sharper and also a bit brighter, but that may be my color bias coming out! |

Hi Mike,
I'm a little confused - it looks to me as if the image labeled original is actually the finished product. Going with that, I really find your idea of presenting the image as a triptych fascinating! You did a great job getting rid of the shadow and expanding the width of the image to rebuild the clipped pile. But I'm puzzled as to why you clipped the pile on the other side in the process. It foreshortens the beach and that is the one thing I liked better in the (what I'm calling) the original. The color adjustments and the texture are very effective and I am very impressed by your creativity as well as your technical skill. |
