Hi Graham! Sorry for posting so late: really love this scene. A wonderful blend of colors: Snow, Mist Trees, Blue sky peeking through...perfect! |

Appreciate the kind words, Jennifer. This goes beyond Macro shooting, and other forms of precise closeup photography, and instead, wonders somewhere beyond our normal perceptions.
I shoot both digital and film for the series and both have some distinct differences, but of course, I love how film interprets a scene. |

Oh, Jennifer, this is so much better. The other artifacts "define" the space of our main subject. The viewer becomes more involved with the space and as a consequence, the main subject. Also, as you can see, the shadow is not a focal point (or distraction)as it was before, and in fact, it is quite comfortable in this composition. Great shot!
This composition is the clear choice for showing. :) |

Hello, Jennifer! Yes, really like this in BW - and you know I love BW renderings.
Some comments: points to ponder: not sure if you cropped this shot, and if you did, was because of artifacts that did not belong in the current composition. I would have liked the Stone on the left, so (maybe) there would be harmony between the Stone and its Shadow. Also, I like the water in front - would like to have seen more of that. But, it is possible neither would have contributed to the current (and lovely) composition. :) |
