Thank you for stopping by, Stephen. Yes, so many amazing compositions recording this wonderful village the past 100 years - it is always important in my work to attempt to reveal new interpretations of known landscapes: in this case, the scene developed through the viewfinder after I glanced up and squinted through the glaring sun. Thank you again for your kind words. |

Hi Irene. Here, another image that portrays a mood, I feel is authentic in nature: the lighting is an important dynamic in any photograph, and here, is an example. |

Wonderful capture, Jennifer. Very commercial-like in its appearance: sharp, exact, and illustrative. |

A very interesting perspective to say the least! Well crafted, Mike. One of my favorite dynamics of this image is the lighting: its natural. Shadows, mid-tones and some highlights all very authentic. Too many students of photography (and seasoned ones, too) try to brighten everything up, especially when they capture indoor compositions: here it is balanced. Great job. :) |

A very famous location and you did a fine job in capturing it: I like the smooth, calming interpretation from the long exposure - and in this case, not over done, like so many "ultra" timed (or Bulb) exposures which I am not a fan of. Well, done. |

Hi Mike. Appreciate the comments. Yes, we are all very use to enjoying many types of landscape with high contrast - and very much a part of my general landscape portfolio. In this case, however, the interpretation is completely different by presenting a more authentic presentation to the viewer. As a consequence, and as you point out, an evocative image emerges. In my opinion, more contrast would transpose the current interpretation to one that is not as powerful and less of how I experienced the scene in real-time. |
