Great capture, then! And of course we know the reason for the color posterization. Hope you can find a print shop, if you have not already, to print and frame this image. Let us know. :) |

Hello, everyone. I will be the Admin for the new Group 87 kicking off on March 1st and stopped by to comment on this lovely landscape. And breaking the rules is fun!
Question, it appears the sky and less in the water some posterization taking place, but looks like paint - is that the case, or a layer of some sort has been added? Thank you |

Hello, I will be the Admin in new Group 87 kicking off on March 1st, and stopping by to comment on the interesting image.
I agree with Hattie, until I read the description I was puzzled, but still very intrigued. The approach (concept) is wonderful, and I would continue practicing the technique, because your sense of composition is keen. Just need to make the human figure more visible. The only thing I will say is next time experiment without using the presets in Silver Efex Pro 2 and play with just contrast. I feel the high 5000 ISO likely gave you enough "noise" to mimic film grain and would love to see another version that way. Just a thought. Really do like this abstract, LuAnn! |

Hello, everyone. I will be the Admin on the new Group 87 kicking off on March 1st, and wanted to comment on this composition. Actually, I feel that all the shadows are the essence to the success of this piece. It is adding another whole dimension that breaks all the straight lines from the two rectangles of the switch. Something we may see in Dali's work or in Will Connell's "Find" 1937. Love it!
In regard to the Tripod-looking "wires" - I would travel back and see if you can elevate yourself to retake the composition. Perhaps maintenance could assist you for a few minutes with a chair or ladder. Just a thought. |
