Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
90 Oct 19 Comment Nice focus. You needed the wide aperture to get the speed to hold the bee. Perhaps a cropping in from the left and right to put the flower stem coming in from the corner and the bee on the thirds may add emphasis but what you have achieved and how you have done it, works so why change. It is always food for thought for next time because once you get the bug it is a great summer pastime. Oct 22nd
90 Oct 19 Comment A very artistic image. The contrast is strong but then that is what makes the image. To my eye the image lacks a bit of balance. The tree and birds are nearly in a line with a lot of spare space on the bottom right. However as an artistic composition it does tick the box. Oct 22nd
90 Oct 19 Comment The composition is good. The aperture is just right but the focus does look a fraction off. The body is in focus but the eye lacks that sharpness. Try to focus on the eye next time because that is what the image is judged by and there will be gasps of excitement when you look at the result. Oct 22nd
90 Oct 19 Comment Macros are difficult to get right, especially if hand held. Did you use a tripod or was it handheld. My guess would be that it was hand held on a wide aperture and auto-focus. Try a tripod with a small exposure and focus manually. Looking at the photo, you do have an eye for macros and a little experimenting would get you pictures with a wow factor. A good picture all the same. Oct 22nd
90 Oct 19 Comment This is a difficult image to get right. Perhaps if it were placed more on the third i.e. a little bit more to the right and the background darkened and the bird lightened. With the light as you described though, it is a well taken shot Oct 22nd
