David, they vary in intensity. Some are nearly ginger and some are verging on brown. This is a prime specimen from south Scotland. |

Superb photo. For a first macro shot then you should be proud of what you have achieved. The detail is in the photo and the colour gives it that wow factor. |

Very well caught. It is a pity about the direct sunlight and the shade. However the feeling of capturing a wild animal in such a great pose is the reward in itself. |

You have certainly captured the emotion that you experienced on the day. Remote and awe inspiring. Photographing white snow is not easy, all too often one can get burnout but you have the exposure spot on |

Spot on photo. The image is sharp and precise. I feel that the branch is just a little too light and it pulls my eye away from such a stunning heron. Try dodge and burn on the branch and see how it affects it but to me this is still a winner. |

Wow Ginny, this is stunning and very well edited. I find the colours vivid and I am drawn into the centre of the flower but still retain the impact from the petals on the side. Simply stunning! |

David, I do like this picture.I feel that the trees concentrate you on the main subject of the photo, the sunrise and they stop my eyes wandering away. The bird is also in the line of vision and this adds to the effect. Well done |
