90 Jul 19 Comment Andrea, I think this is well worth the effort. I believe that you have seen this photograph and captured its beauty. However, I think that a lead in line in the foreground and less sky would help here. Had you looked around the lake and tried other positions. If it had been overcast or rain to bring a feature into the sky or a sunrise or sunset then I think you would have a sure wow photo. Saying that, I still think it is a good photo and well worth the shot. Jul 12th
90 Jul 19 Comment It is a well seen capture. I believe that the missing tail of the parent bird is a distraction. However both birds are pin sharp and you larger aperture has ensured that the background is not a distraction. I believe that if you crop the foreground so that the birds are on the lower line of thirds, then a good photo could be an even better photo by removing a lot of the in-focus foreground. However, I believe it is and will always remain, a good capture and an interesting photograph. Jul 12th
90 Jul 19 Comment I agree about the focus point. I believe that you have focused on the flank of the animal because that is very sharp. I think that because he is looking at me then the crop is just right. Had he been looking out of the picture then you would need more room on the left for him to look into.I see that there is catchlight in the right eye, have you thought about increasing this with the dodge and burn tool. It may help to bring out the eyes and face more. It is however a beautiful capture. Jul 12th
90 Jul 19 Comment Hi Linda, I think this is a great capture of the bird in a great pose. The effect of the rain would have generated an even greater wow factor but I do not think with it lacking rain, that it detracts from the image at all. a stunning capture. Jul 12th
90 Jul 19 Comment Hi Julie. I see this as possibly two shots in one. The foliage and the bark are sharply focused and they would make a good image. I see the heron in sharp focus with beautiful plumage. Both are beautiful photos and either would make a great capture but my mind is looking at the beautiful background and the stunning heron and I don't know which to concentrate on. However, all I can say is well done. Jul 12th
90 Jul 19 Comment Ginny, you do like your flowers and I can see why. To my eye, the image is sharp where it needs to be sharp, i.e the pink petals and the green foliage is not a distraction. My eye flows from left to right. In my opinion, the only distraction is the light bit of wall, I would have darkened that down slightly so it does not catch my eye so much. However it is a good, well taken photograph. Jul 12th
