Interesting observation Henry. I did not change ratios, perhaps the tight crop did it? Pulling back would amplify the the feeling of isolation. Thank you. |

Arik, thanks for the comments. The vastness of the empty space was appealing, knowing that this once state-of-the art observatory probed deeper into the cosmos than any other telescope. |

I agree Jack, it is a heavy image. Bringing out the shadows might help too. On second look, I wonder about using a warming filter. |

Steve, the level of detail in this image is splendid. Again you captured the contrast the old the new, this time with subtlety. Did you consider removing the logo in the modern building? I'd leave it, as you did. |

Emil, you captured a feeling as well as an image. It is wonderful as is, but the original has possibilities. I like the contrast in it between the last tree and the fog, my eye also wanders over to the elliptical aura. Would a landscape crop give you yet another delightful image? |

Henry, I like your decisions in post processing. Some obsessive perfectionists might want the shadows of the couple removed, but I agree it is not worth it. Using the planter to draw in the viewer was good. Working on the shadows, especially with the statue, added much. |

Jack, I like the softness of this image. You can almost feel the warm breeze. The moped is placed well in the composition to give it scale and create balance. Channeling Gary, maybe the sky might be rendered darker to contrast with the trees? |

Arik, I really like your use of triangles in the composition of this image. Thanks for removing the wires (I know you generally like to keep images as native as possible). Instead of a ladder, could you capture the island and move it to allow using the content generated fill tool to put a bit of river at its point, if you agree with Emil's comment?

The lights inside drew my attention too. Featuring the chandelier was creative. Foliage frames in the image nicely. A dreamy inviting image. |

Don, I too find myself using paintings to find and compose photographs. Many painters do the converse. It's all visual art. It's a minor nit, but you have a dirty sensor speck in the upper left and some noise in the sky that Topaz or other programs could reduce, if you wish. |

Brian, wow, lovely colors. Such a gentle blend of pinks, yellows and blues. I really like the reflection of the dead trees. There was not much to do to improve this native image. |
