Steve, through the path, you lead the viewer into this image. Placing the steeple in the middle and recovering some texture in the clouds in the sky completes a lovely composition. |

Emil, for me, the swan is the hero in this image. It pulls the iron work on the bridge and the trees together. Lovely. |

Henry, your window must have been clean and/or what you attribute to IR is true. There is something plastic-looking about this image, which is interesting and intriguing. The shadows create a strong 3D effect. |

Jack, for me, the image need not come together. It is a visual story about man made and nature made beauty. I like the vine and the stump and how they prevail against and with the sacred man made creations. |

Arik, the clouds are splendid. I like that you captured the bisons facing the barn. The highlights on the trees create depth, and contrast. Beautiful landscape. |

Melanie, you are a natural street photographer. Indeed, we are taken back in history in Little Havana. You captured the moment. The expression of the waiter is arresting. |

Yes Jack, I fiddled with contrast, but felt it added too much weight. Removing the dashed lines was a coin flip. I know Arik supports leaving such things in, but . . . |

Sanat, this image surely captures the feeling of being at the top of a majestic mountain. I like what you did to bring out the shadows. The tree provides perspective and scale although it runs off the rightside of the frame (you might consider deleting some branches?). There are some dust specks in the sky that could be easily removed. |

Quang, Iceland is inspiration for landscape photographers. There is so much beauty to see and capture. Indeed, you captured some of that beauty with this image. I like Don's suggestions concerning the sky in the original. Anything that can be done, IMHO, to bring out the yellows and orange colors in the sky will then contrast all the more beautifully with the cool blues in the water. Your shutter speed was spot on, perfect. |

Brian, this photo takes us to Antarctica. The blues and the whites validate the frigid cold impression viewers have. Despite a slight overexposure in the original, you compensated and captured the elusive blue colors you sought. |

Mark, I like what you did to bring out the colors of the tractor and device in the shed. Yes, the sky was blah, and you were creatively courageous replacing it with a night sky, but it seems unnatural. The webbing in the tree somehow did not allow the edge of the replacement to penetrate the branches. It is a minor matter, but the crop pinched the left side of the image a bit too much, IMHO. Nonetheless, the image is quite arresting. |

Don, welcome to group 88. Your Bio says you are attracted to textures and patterns, and it is surely evident in this splendid image. The light is well used. By taking the photo down the long side of the room you captured the light at its most appealing angle. Your post processing revealed textures, details, and colors not seen in the original. My only comment for improvement concerns the overexposed light coming through some of the windows, but this is a minor issue. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your photographic work. |
