Melanie, I know we sound like old-timers, but it is reasonable to wonder what the effects devices like cell phones will have on humanity. |

Thank you for the comments Steve. Your observation that American kids don't crouch is astute. |

Thank you Arik for getting the story and meaning of this timely image. It has been said, the Great Wall can be seen from outer space, but here we have a small child who has disappeared into her inner space. |

Melanie, first, thank you for being god by removing the unnecessary humans and other distractions. The final composition is much better for it. This image faithfully captures the heat and barrenness of the desert. High key, indeed. Now, I have to go turn on the AC. |

Arik, people, like deer, don't look up enough. This image reminds us of the skyward beauty always there, always available. I like the rotation, it invites the viewer's eye to "squirrel" up the tree. The detail is so tactile. Please keep walking in Duke Island Park. |

I like your creative courage and the fun you add to photography . . . something I admire and model. Big-scale landscape images need a human form to not only provide scale, but also to create a story. What you have done here is exactly that. However, I agree with the others about size of the figure (e.g., face especially), and being a blue-collar guy from PA, I'm flummoxed by her clothing. BTY, I agree with your comments about AI. It's a beast, but worth taming. |

Henry, I like what you so ambitiously and laboriously did in post processing. The viewer feels the monstrosity of the Spider Rock. My comment, more so a question, is about the visual fusion of the left-most spire with the rock formation in the background. My eye wants more contrast and differentiation between these two features, but if desirable, how might it be accomplished? |

Emil, like you, I am attracted to grasses. Their softness and graceful arches are simply lovely. It's nitpicking, but I have noticed that programs like Nik Efex can leave small patches of noise. I wish I knew how to prevent them. |

Steve, you have captured a story as well as a compelling image. Yes, it is complex, but by darkening the Tunas and putting the tourists in the background, it has a dominate subject. The modern vs classic architecture adds to the story. Thank you for taking a chance with this intriguing scene. |

Brian, thank you for your comments and how this image makes you feel. At age 78, like you, I identify with the elderly stuck in corners. My mother died a few years ago, I know a lot about what you are not saying. I took this photo more for what it emotionally reveals than what it visually reveals. Thank you for seeing both. |

Brian, I like what you did with cropping and saturation adjustments. Would you want the lighthouse a little more prominent and visible? If so, why not crop a bit more then reduce noise? |

Sanat, if your intention was to capture how barren and rough this area of India is, you were successful. The green fields near the distant village stand in contrast to the rest of this hostile feeling environment. Would consider cropping it give more emphasis to the village? |

My goodness Quang Phan, you took this shot 1/2 second exposure handheld. It is quite sharp and you nicely captured the flow of the incoming waves. Colors are lovely and it was the right call to delete the swimmers. Camera club critics might point out that the horizon is not level, but that could be your artistic choice too. |

Mark, I can understand why hay bales attracted your attention. Farmers place them in their fields in such artistic ways, perhaps intentionally. The colors are nicely saturated by the rain and without sun, the light is smooth and even. For a first photo, one can see you were on your way to a new avocation. |
