66 Mar 25 Comment Jack, for me, this image has the feel of a graveyard, which as we know, is great subject matter for IR. You've expertly handled the strengthening of leading lines. Maybe the gentle burning some of the white in the rock stack on the left might increase contrast and, therefore, add a bit more strength? Mar 2nd
66 Mar 25 Comment Arik, this is certainly an IR image that invites time travel. What a surreal juxtaposition of a chewing tobacco ad with the random parking of 1930s autos. So well rendered and processed. A minor thing: maybe crop the bottom a little more? Mar 2nd
66 Mar 25 Comment Henry, Iceland may be the perfect location for IR shots, especially landscapes. Your photo is exemplary. Quite lovely. But here are a couple very minor tweaks to consider: to make the church standout more, darken the mountains slightly, then raise the white in the church a bit. Mar 2nd
66 Mar 25 Comment Emil, this is a perfect IR subject. The original shot was composed expertly, simply lovely. A couple minor things: maybe increase contrast in the sky, and do what can be done to whiten the fences, particularly in the foreground and that strong leading line lane. Mar 1st
66 Mar 25 Comment I like this image a lot. It has good depth, tonal balance and is a very pleasant composition. A couple of tweaks, if you agree: maybe crop a bit more on the left, increase highlights in spots using the dodge tool, and maybe lighten the leaves in the tree (or slightly increase brightness in the sky, while keeping contrast). 88 Mar 25 Comment Sanat, the colors are festive. The way the cloud restates the shape of the tree is interesting. However, while full of energy, the composition in my opinion is too complex. My eyes wants more simplicity, perhaps achieved by a focus on fewer people in the original composition? Mar 16th
88 Mar 25 Comment Quang Phan, a travel camera with its own ND filters is so useful. I like the tone established by the fog in this image. Bringing out the yellow haze added to this effect. For unexplainable reasons, my eye wants the snake-like tree removed. What are your thoughts? Mar 16th
88 Mar 25 Comment Brian, you have succeeded in creating that innocence of childhood memory. Key to it is removal of people, but would including one running child change things too much? The 5.6 f-stop may have cramped your depth of field? Mar 16th
88 Mar 25 Comment Mark, what a touching moment. Prague is ideal for photography. I like what you did to lighten the shadows and more illuminate the Flag. The colors in the sky, as they are rendered on my monitor, are slightly oversaturated. Mar 16th
88 Mar 25 Reply I agree. Another shot taken at Eastern State is more in compliance with your suggestions? Mar 8th
