Gary, wow, what you did in post processing has converted a flat, albeit classic image, into a work of art. You may have raised the question in yourself, "Is AI a coauthor of this image?" I'd say "no". It modified it, but did not create it. Even the addition of random pixels started from sampling the original image. Through your effort and skill you have made these additions a more natural part of the image (e.g., on sides of the bluff and the details in the seaweed). Thank you for alerting us to the potentials of images a decade old. |

Palli, I like your historical, longitudinal treatment of the Borehole. Besides documenting changes in the Borehole you have also showed how photographic technology has evolved. The IR image is so much better than Original 2. With the IR image you have used the spiral structure as an artistically useful compositional form. The details captured by your Canon 40D and emphasized by you in processing add so much richness to the image. The frame color fits well, but my eye wants it thinner, that's an opinion, not a suggestion. Intriguing image! |

With humble strength its branches rise to caress the sky,
While its roots dive deep into frigid moss without a sigh,
And Winter's invisible birds from its perches wait for Spring to fly,
Happily, such beauty is shared because of a skilled photographer's eye
