Jack, this image has a pleasant emotional gestalt about it. The grasses are so whispy and carefree. I agree with comments about darkening the logs, however, that would be difficult and tedious to do. The tree shadow diverts attention, but adds depth. There are a lot of alternative subjects in this image, which adds complexity to the composition, but also invites the eye to wander. |

Arik, like the others, I was faked out and freaked out by the panther. I understand the spirit of guidelines concerning photographing the art of others, however, there is a lot of gray area. Your image is nicely composed. I favor more contrast (e.g., Emil's version). |

Melanie, with that "other camera" I hope you captured a photo of a Resplendent Quetzal while in Costa Rica. However I like this IR image of a waterfall in a dense tropical forest (we are used to seeing waterfalls in barren rocky landscapes). My only suggestion is to keep the waterfall white so it contrasts better. |

Henry, I like the photo as is. It so much reminds me of photos of Ansel Adams. Your composition is spot on. What a lovely image. Thank you for sharing it. |

Trey, the Skunk-Foster State Natural Area is lucky to have you as a photographer. You have a gift for capturing the subtle beauty of hard-to-compose natural scenes. I like what you did to capture the feel of this spot in the forest, and at once, define a subject amonst the clutter Mother Nature challenges us to select a central dominant viewpoint. |

Quang Phan, clouds are so subject-worthy. You captured some dynamic ones. I like what you did to create HDR-like results. Keeping the figure allows the viewer to assess the size and power of the clouds. Nice work. |

Mark, I can see why this Lighthouse is a popular subject. I like the way you used the rock as foreground to draw the viewer's eye to the Lighthouse. You got lucky with the sky, it is beautiful and completes an image worth hanging on one's wall. |
