Gary, I like the backlighting effect in this image and the artsy touch add by the reflection. The strong contrast makes an already organic pond seem even more so. This is an image that invites the viewer to walk into it. |

Arik, a great subject for IR. I like that you preserved some color. The blue sky adds interest in this image. The depth of field is terrific, the entire image is sharp. My 2 cents for a comment is more of a compositional bias: How would the image look with the post and barbed wire removed in the foreground? |

Melanie I've got to agree with the earlier comments, but raise a couple questions for you. Positive comments were made on your raising of highlights to contrast with the barn, but would a bit more be even better? |

Melanie, I see what you mean about the sameness of the tones. Lightening the highlights on the land and giving more definition to sky improves the image. You might be interested to know that I building a sky replacement folder containing only original IR images. Generally, I like to keep the native sky, perhaps I should have not replaced this one. |

Gary, I do like the changes. Indeed, I was hesitant to have so much foreground. Less is better, and I like the dramatic contrast you added to the sky. Thank you! BTW, if you would like some hints and suggestions on traveling to Iceland, I have at least 2 cents worth of information. |

Quang, this is a wild and fun image. The zooming added yet another level of engery to an already hot image. You transformed a frequently seen seasonal display into a very intriguing abstract image. Very creative! |

Louis, I like the way you saved the sky in the original then brought out the shadows and bright colors of the market in postprocessing. Using the market as a leading line strengthened the composition. A very fetching image.

Rich, I can image the scene in which you too this shot. Only from a plane could you get such an angle, but also you are at the mercy of the pilot. You did amazing work reducing the overexposed areas and brought out the texture, details and color in other areas. The sky is good too, but would a replaced sky help? |

Trey, I can see why this image got some recognition. You not only recovered details in the shadow, underexposed areas, but also in tone and coloration you blended these areas with the sunset and brought out that artful reflection in the pond. High marks indeed. |
