That is an interesting image and even more interesting explanation. I think I do see a little of the red haze you are talking about, overall I think you did a really good job of eliminating it, I did have to really look for it. Is there a way of removing it in post, had you not used the filters? |

So my first impression of this image was that it was of a diorama. I appears that there are shadows on the sky being created by a foreground (out of camera) light. When I read your explanation, I realized the "shadows" were actually the trees in the second image and the images are not aligned properly. The problem appears to be the images were not taken at the same spot. So the solution is to mask out the trees better on the second shot and eliminate the branch in the middle of the sun. I'm not sure how to do this in LR but it can definitely be done in PS. |

That's a really interesting image and the B&W treatment gives it an old timey feel. I really didn't notice the gull until I read the comments, so I would say it doesn't contribute to the image. The banding I believe is a jpeg compression artifact and I would bet you don't see it in the original. |

Ok, that's just cool! I thought the frozen water was actually waves as well. I actually like that panorama crop. I do agree with Barbara that I do associate cooler tones with the cold, but I like the contrast with the ice that the warm tone of the sunset creates. One thing I would try is doing a cooling filter on the sky with a gradient mask. That might give you the best of both worlds. |

That's a beautiful sunset! I love the reflection in the water and the colors really pop. I do agree that the lower right corner seems a little off. Maybe rather than darkening it, desaturating that area might make sense. Opening up the shadows can sometimes produce some odd artifacts. |

I actually like the tree. You did a good job with the clouds, I don't see any haloing around the tree. I like the idea of a B&W treatment, think it would really make an interesting image. |

As I recall, I think the bus was parked right next to where I was standing, so the was as far to the left as I could get. You're probably right about the greens, I could tone the down a little. |

Thanks, I've debated about that, but decided to leave them in for scale. |

Thanks for that catch, guys! I totally missed that purple fringe, but once you mentioned it, the thing stands out like a sore thumb. I think its easily fixed, just a mask ajustment. |
