Very nice image, Diane! Good job opening up the shadows. It has a calm, peaceful atmosphere. I do agree with the others that the image would be better if you had included the lake reflection in your sky processing. I actually like the crop you did, so I would not change it. |

That's a really interesting image. I think converting to monochrome was the right choice. The lack of people and traffic coupled with the smooth water from the long exposure give it a somewhat surreal look. Did the long exposure actually eliminate people and traffic? |

Great image, Larry. This is about the interplay of light and shadow, so I don't have a problem with the shadows being so dark. That said, if I look closely, I do see some detail in the shadows, so it doesn't look like much is lost in the shadows. Reducing the image size or increasing the compression is always going to result in a loss of detail, not much you can do about that. |
