Thanks for the comments, guys. They are very helpful. Most of the images I got that day were not the best. I need to get back there and try again. |

This image definitely captures the WWII era well. Black and white was definitely the right choice! I like the leading lines the fence creates toward the barracks. The fence post and tower do seem a little soft to me. I would think about selectively sharpening them a bit. On the other hand, the softness does evoke the images taken during that time, which were not crystal clear. |

Wow, that image does scream COLD! Great image! I like Larry's suggestion about removing the little hint of pink in the sky. Other that that I would not change a thing. |

That's a great shot, Larry! The lighthouse beams as well as the cloudy sky definitely add drama to the picture. I actually like the other structure, it adds interest without being distracting. I do agree with Michael, the the rocks should be a bit darker. I'm actually ok with the sea where its at, since the subject of the photo is clearly the lighthouse. The reflection in the water creates a nice leading line towards it. |

That's a great image, Barbara! I like Michael's suggestion to increase the contrast in the Milky Way to make it pop better. You could also add reflections to the water by adding an inverted layer of the sky, and masking it for the lake and lowering the opacity to about 30% and darkening it a bit. You can add a motion blur parallel to the waves to and a path blur perpendicular to the waves to simulate distortion of the reflection by the water. |
