Hi Larry,
Yeah I like that better. I was thinking a little more extreme like this. I may have gone overboard though. What do you think? |

This image has amazing colors, and it creates an almost otherworldly mood. I love the way the clouds hug the mountains, and the leading lines created by the river in the foreground. I find myself agreeing with Arne, the sharpness of the mountains isn't as important as the mood the scene and colors create. I did take a look at the originals, and it does seem that the softness might be an artifact of Photomatrix combining the images, since the originals seem a little sharper, but I'm not sure I see that as a problem in this case. |

This is a nice scene, and it is deceptively calm, given what you said about the place. I like Larry's suggestion about darkening the hill. I'm not sure I would completely eliminate the sky, I think a horizon line on this kind of scene is important, but you could crop out more of the sky, since it is so plain, maybe about 2/3rds of it. |

I really like what you did with the sun's rays. The trees in the foreground don't really bother me. I think I would agree with Arne on this one. |

Absolutely astounding image, Larry! I love the boat and the sky with the Milky Way is gorgeous. I would not reduce the stars, but I might experiment with the contrast on the sky to bring out the stars even more, particularly on the upper 3rd, maybe then use a gradient mask on the adjustment layer. But really the photo is amazing as is! |

I think this is a nice well composed panorama. I like it the way it is, but if you wanted to add more drama you could experiment with trying to bring the greens out in the foreground trees, and perhaps sharpening them a bit. I would also be interested to see what a dehaze would do in the midground, although the haze adds to the image, so I'm not sure I would change it and definitely not on the background mountains. |
