Nice image from a place on my bucket list! I can see that your image is actually level, you can tell from the little bit of horizon and the clouds, but it does give that optical illusion. I think Arne is right, the image would be improved with a little more contrast. You could use a luminosity mask, or try experimenting with curves or brightness and contrast. I have done it both ways. I would probably mask out the sky and the extreme background as well, when doing this. |

Really great image! I agree with Larry about cloning out the bright spot on the bottom, and I do see his point about not cropping out the sky and the left to the sun beam, the image does actually seem more powerful with that treatment. |

I really like the mood this image evokes with the ruined house and the approaching storm. I do agree with the others the the house is overly yellow, and that should be toned down as Richard did in his treatment. Other than that it's a great image! |

An interesting image. I like the long exposure and the reflection of the lights from the pier in the water. I think maybe if the sky were darker it would be more dramatic. The cloud above the pier is drawing my eye away from the pier itself. I was not even sure that it was a cloud, until I re-read your description. It is definitely soft, but I think it could be toned down a bit to bring more attention to the pier and water. I do agree with Michael about cloning out the light reflection right were the water meets the shore and cropping some of the shore out. I'm having the same problem with material, I have not been out to photograph since March, and I am starting to run out of good source images. Hopefully I can stretch what I have until we can get out again! |
