Hi Georgianne.
Without a doubt the second version that you have done is more pleasant to me than the first, the use of textures in the images is one more element that we have to create images, but I understand that this resource should not compete with the subject of that image , as in the first version. On the other hand, I find that the tugboat needs more space on the sides, it creates a sensation of claustrophobia, being almost touching the edges of the image, which together with the perspective of the shot, makes me feel that the image has fallen to the left, which causes me some visual imbalance. That is why I understand that your second version pleases me more, by softening all the image and surrounding details, you help to tighten the tugboat more and the sensations of the first version disappear. |

Hi Lance.
What is most interesting about your image is the play of directions in the composition, even the smoke seems to follow the direction of the bridge or conveyor belt. As for the warm tack, I do not know if it contributes or not to the image, being almost all the metallic elements and a blue sky with some cloud and smoke, I visualize it more in a black and white of much contrast with total absence of tacking |

Good light and details Judith, to make it completely commercial, I lack a point of light aimed at the metal plate of the brand, to illuminate it a bit |

Hi Judith
Thanks for your comment, really the framing is somewhat lower than what I usually use, I shoot this type of photography with the camera at the waist, framing mentally. On this occasion I did not wear an Neutral Density filter and with a shutter time of 1/2 sg I have no choice but to put one knee on the floor and rest the camera on it.
From the sky there is nothing to take out, it is too bright when you are inside these little streets and it is only a white spot, so I try to include as little as possible in scenes of great angle like this. |

Hi Lance
Thanks for the comment, the strange dark spot on the left, is a person, I did not want to remove it since it is street photography, if in the future I would make an exhibition of this work I would certainly work it. |
