Hi Judith
Is not too bright, the first conversion to black and white if it had too much brightness in part of the face, measuring the luminosity values you can see that this second conversion to black and white is balanced as the original in the levels of brightness. Maybe the first time you just needed to lower something in the bright area of the forehead |

Hi Judith
Good portrait to your husband, the indirect and directional lighting of doors and windows is fantastic, would try to darken the background blacks more (with a layer of selective correction). I understand that you illuminated the face and I think too much, since you also illuminated the shadows and turn the face somewhat flat, especially the side of the head that faces inwards, there the shadows should be darker, this also helps to give more volume |

Hello Jane
As Stephen says the original image is already monochromatic and interesting. The vignetting of the image I think tends to make it too flat, for my taste too range of grays and zero black, I understand that the morning mist acts as a giant softbox eliminating hard blacks. But with a sun so low, the ducks ask me for some black |

Hi Dirk
A hypnotic image, really so many eyes look dowry create a great effect. The black and white is so contrasted that at times I do not know if it is a picture or a drawing. Good job. |

Hi judit
Really your crop changes the image, it is really the color I thought when taking it, because of the great contrast between the blue of the river water and the blue of the sea. But black and white loses something that contracts between the two waters |
