38 Jan 25 Reply It's all good. One of the reasons I love photography is we get to see the same world in so many different was. Jan 27th
38 Jan 25 Comment Marge, believe me, I am not being argumentative. I am sincerely curious why you thought the original edit "needed" to be flipped. It's as if it was wrong in the original and yet, that's what you saw and what you captured. I think it "could" be flipped. I think there's nothing wrong with flipping the image. But needed? Jan 22nd
38 Jan 25 Comment I'm a fan of silhouettes when the subject is obvious. I also see them as an opportunity for a monochrome. In your case you already have a monochrome, but I like the traditional black-and-white version. Jan 9th
38 Jan 25 Comment I like what you did with the colors but can't figure how you managed to fade the gondola driver. He almost looks fake. In the original he has good color and texture. I like your crop. Very nice composition. Jan 5th
38 Jan 25 Comment What a fun capture of life on the highway. Love the interaction of man and man's-best-friend. Just playing with it, I added a vignette and removed a couple of bright spots behind them. I also used the "lens blur" tool in LR to blur the background and then added some mid-tone brightness. A really fun image taken at a really beautiful location. Jan 5th
38 Jan 25 Comment I love the "trial-and-error" technique and result. To me, it means you had a vision and you did what you needed to make it a reality. Beautiful colors. I think my only suggestion would be to lose a little of the bottom. To me the high bridge makes the image top heavy. While doing that, I did some dodging of the stonework and some burning of some of the recesses in the foliage. This would make a drop-dead metal print. Jan 5th
38 Jan 25 Comment First, I want to apologize for my lack of participation. I completed a couple of particularly difficult club judgings the last couple of months and I was just burned out. Please rest assured I take full responsibility. Now, your image: I love the long exposure effect. I like your composition with the leading lines of the pier and the white water both pointing to the brighter patch in the sky. I did some contrast and dehazing of the sky and lightened the pier to further emphasize the leading lines. I felt the shoreline was a bit too bright for my taste so I reduced the highlights along the shore. The Lightroom crop tool revealed a very slight lean to the left of the horizon that I straightened. Without the crop tool it would not be noticeable but I was using the tool to crop a slight amount of the shore. I finished by adding some mid-tone brightness to the whole image. All this just to make it more mine. I think you did a great job finding and capturing this image. Jan 5th
