38 Sep 24 Reply I think you nailed it with the black and white treatment. Would love to see this as a metal print. Sep 12th
38 Sep 24 Comment I also went with a different crop. I like everything except for the eye being closed. Of course, then it wouldn't be a nap. If I didn't notice the title (and I don't normally care), I would think that you missed the shot because the eye is closed. I did boost contrast on the heron by boosting saturation of the darker colors and brightening the lighter plumage. I also removed the trigs sticking out of its head and beak. Based on the title, it is another take on how to capture a blue heron. Well done. Sep 11th
38 Sep 24 Comment I also converted to black and white because the colors were already quite muted. I cropped in to emphasize the webs. I added contrast and a vignette. The file size was small so I doubled it in Topaz to have more to work with. Spider webs are a one of natures wonders. Sep 11th
38 Sep 24 Comment I went with another aspect ratio but the same idea. For me, the people in the top of the image were a distraction that added nothing to the story. I also struggled with how to approach the main subject, so i went with a silhouette. I also added a bit of dehaze to add some contrast. Great summer story. Sep 11th
38 Sep 24 Comment There's a lot I like about this image. I like the layers and the multiple textures. I think the lone traveler in a stark surrounding is a compelling story. I like that the person is in profile leading me to wonder if they are coming or going. There is lots of detail in the whites and the shadows. Very nice. Sep 10th
38 Sep 24 Comment I like how you processed this image. At first I tried to figure out what the subject was and then when I did, I couldn't unsee it. I like the sense of motion and the colors make the cyclists pop. I like the flow of motion but also the light flow from bright to dark in the direction of flow. Well done. Sep 8th
38 Sep 24 Comment I love the colors in this image. I did find the background seemed to blend into the subject, so I darkened the background and added a vignette which I thought might help isolate the subject. Sep 6th
