I really like this image. I'm a fan of buffets for the eyes and this image, in my opinion, has just about everything. I like the textures , shapes, color and patterns. I do think the window left of the door contributes little more than a distraction, so I cropped it out. I also think that if you're going to cut off a person's feet, make it look intentional. So I cropped up to her knees. I also cloned out a flare above her head and darkened a couple of flares along the base of the window. I darkened the interior of the shop to add some depth and suspense, isolate the store front without distracting from the context of the image.. Over all I really think you did well to capture the mood and story. Once again you dazzled us with your culture. |

Okay, since we all have, well you know, opinions. This is mine. I really like your original image before we all started playing with it. I like the mood and how the light isolates the birds and people. In my opinion that sets the subject apart from the sky. Any time there is a substantive reflection I like to balance the image with the reflection. I did that by putting the horizon in the middle. That brought the clouds into play without distraction since they were in both the top and bottom of the image. I added some exposure and used a graduated filter to balance the "blues" in the sky and reflection. I also cropped from the right to put the center of mass of birds and people on the right 1/3 vertical line. I also used the adjustment brush to reduce the shadow around the people to bring them more into balance with the visibility of the birds. I also added a little horizon purple to the top 25% of the ocean. (I kept more of the ocean to add depth and perspective and highlight the grandeur.) I exported to Topaz Studio to add some grunge/texture to the water and beach. I kept the contrasting warm and cool colors. To me that gives the viewer a choice of either a morning or evening reference. These are just how I played with what I thought was a very good image. Opinions expressed are just that...opinion. |

I almost never crop until the whole image is processed. In this case I did crop early and the old uncropped file was deleted when I cleaned up my files. |

I like so much about this image. I love the contrast and complimenting bold colors. It's artsy and sophisticated without being overwhelming. The textures and patterns keep my eyes busy. Well done. |

Really like this image. Reflections can be tricky and I think you nailed the focus and depth of field. I really like that you left a small "anchor" in the corner to help orient my eyes. In my opinion you perfectly conveyed the cold winter mood. Very nice. |
