What a great catch, seeing the moment here. The badlands, of course, are fascinating with their crooks and crannies and stripes representing changes in the environment, I presume. They are so unusual, I think he's absolutely right to take them and not the background on the right, which is much more usual. I even cupped my hands and tried to see if cropping out the background on the right would improve the shot, but I decided not -- it gives prospective. So does the photographer -- he gives prospective to everything! |

I think this is lovely! I love the clarity of the main subjects. I like the grasses very much, unlike others. Also the greenery to the right. Nice background for the subjects. Excellent composition -- like the eye movement from left to right. My only suggestion would be that the background grasses and greens are neither blurred, nor totally clear. I think if I were more experienced I could tell you how you could have gotten the same clarity up front with more blurring in the background. |

Lovely shot. Reminds me of Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World. I love the dilapidated farm house, and the location. I don't mind the tree at all, but I would have taken out the blue since there aren't any cows there and it distracts from the rest of the things that are there. I am guessing the birds you added are a bit bigger than the others, and I would have left them out. I love the sky and the crop! |

What inviting perspective! Love the bridge itself, with the variations in the aging wood and the charming greenery. The red in the iron adds nicely to the coloration. What exactly did you do to "enhance" the sky? It's very nice and looks quite natural. I'm hard pressed to come up with a suggestion, but it might be to move the crop (assuming you cropped) just a tiny bit to the right so that there would be an equal amount of fence showing on either side of the bridge. |

Creative and interesting. The spaceman's legs would probably have been bent at the knee by the time he got there. I just dropped by again from Group 9, my new general group, because this photo reminded me so much of the old film "The Fly"! No one who has seen it can ever forget the last scene . . . . |
