When I opened this, I only saw the photo, not the title. I immediately thought -- what sad-looking flowers! And then I read the title. I see how they got their name. . . I love the clarity of the flowers and their stem. The little buds offer hope (or more sadness?). I like the softening of the leaves and the background. |

An interesting and creative idea! Also - it stimulated lots of interesting discussion. I agree with the comments that the reflection underneath isn't what it might be to carry out your idea. I like the idea of black forks, as silver would have been distracting and reflective. And I do like Georges approach. In something like this, I do agree that the egg needs to be as perfectly evenly balanced and straight up as possible. |

This is a very pretty rose in a perfect stage of opening for photography! I love the clarity of the inner buds and the red on the outer edges. I like what Janet did a lot. It sharpens the image. I don't know anything about lensbabies, so I can't help there. |

Gorgeous photo! Love the eyes and the sense of movement I get from seeing the feathers still all fluffed. I do like the rope gone. |

What fun! I love the shadows at the top, and the building in general. I also think it's very busy below. I think I would have cropped out the "Humpty Dumpty " part and his followers and used it only to put in front of the building. |

Although I loved the texture that is so evident in the b & w version, I also really like what Peter did to it. |

This is lovely, and a great way to use ICM. I've only used it on flowers and bushes, but dancers is a terrific idea. I also agree it would be really interesting and fun to try using longer exposures and letting the dancer(s) do the moving. If you could use a tripod from your (aisle?) seat, you might get some really nice results! |

I disagree with everyone -- it's clearly the face of a deer! Forehead, eyes, eye lashes, nose, beginning of a mouth. What fun! That being what I see in it, I would agree on blurring the forest behind and also dropping the eagle.
Very provocative and creative work, both pre and post! |

A really interesting photo - don't think I've ever seen one in infra-red before. It seems strangely "misty" to me. I think I would like it to be sharper, as Peter has made it. I also agree that the stem is distracting and might be better cropped out. In that case, I'd put in a bit more of the background above (especially) and to the right of the peony. |
